The Real TRUTH about Storytelling

We are all unique.

Unique in the way we express ourselves through our art and our feelings.

Unique in the way which we deal, with everything and the amalgamation of it all is what we depict in our stories.

Don’t we all tell stories through different forms of art?

Writers narrate stories through their writings. Poets through their Poems. Photographers through their pictures they capture. Dancers through their movements. Musicians through their compositions. Singers through their songs.

Don’t we tell stories through the way we live our lives? Don’t we tell the stories through the legacies we leave behind or leave nothing behind? Don’t we narrate stories through our eyes, without words being spoken or written? All of it illustrates vivid stories.

At the same time, there are a lot of people who just hold onto it all for the rest of their lives and their stories go with them to the sepulcher. They hide, don’t share, and want to stay invisible. Why is that? Have you ever wondered? Either they are scared, reluctant, feel insignificant or don’t trust. There could be any number of possibilities.

Know that we all hold within ourselves little tales that have been passed on to us by our elders, friends, family and our own life experiences. Now It is up to us how we choose to narrate it or keep it to ourselves, but we should. Trust me, it is powerful to do so.

Now we don’t necessarily have to write a best seller and sell a million copies to be a story teller. All it takes is just one person to share it with. It can be anyone. I know that it’s not easy. But I promise, you will certainly feel empowered.

I am slowly getting there and believe me we have the ardor it takes. One step at a time. This is not the end but a new beginning. I am a storyteller. Are you?
